The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Men's Description:
| The North Face Redpoint Jacket is the new fleece. It’s so much better, though, because it’s wind & water resistant and warmer. It also doesn’t pill or collect lint and hair. The North Face Redpoint Jacket replaces fleece as an all-around insulating layer—it has far better wind & water resistance, layers without bunching, and is simply warmer. It also doesn’t pill or collect lint and hair. Instead, the Redpoint's a silky smooth jacket that keeps you warmer than you might expect from just looking at it. Filled with the best synthetic insulation on the market, PrimaLoft, the Redpoint looks and feels fairly thin but keeps you amazingly warm. In fact, it's 30% lighter than fleece of comparable warmth. Stuff the entire jacket inside the left hand pocket, zip it up, and you’re left with a bundle no bigger than a brown bag lunch that weighs only 17 ounces. Makes it easy to toss in your pack or suitcase. It’s a 4 season jacket that people LOVE. |
Bottom Line: Almost every single one of us gear hounds at BackcountryStore.com owns this piece. We dig it and think you will too. |
Reviews: The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Men's
RedPoint Rocks The Redpoint hoodless jacket replaced my Patagodia Puffball (hoodless) sweater which is no longer made. It is light and great to stuff in the motorcycle pack. I use it for cool mornings and or under rain gear to stay warm. Good stuff..
Love-Hate relationship, but still damn good! I LOVE this jacket, but HATE the zipper on the Napoleon pocket. It’s warm and has pretty much been my stock jacket for winter, but the zipper on the chest pocket catches the fabric 40% of the time I zip & unzip it, and is so annoying it makes me want to throttle the dude at TNF who designed it. argh! It’s relatively easy to get it unstuck, but it’s still aggravating that an otherwise awesome jacket has this zipper problem. Not sure if it’s just my jacket or what.
The red point is on point. I love my redpoint. It is really versatile, and looks good too. It can be used alone or as insulation for another North Face jacket. It is also very light weight. The only issue that i have is that sometimes the zippers on the pocket gets stuck, but it is easy to take care of that.
toasty and puffless This is a super light, super warm jacket. It also packs down to almost nothing. Another nice thing about it is that it's not super puffy/bulky like a lot of down jackets, so you don't walk around looking like the Michelin man. Unless you live at one of the poles, this is really all the winter jacket you need.
