Inspired by Schmidt’s daring exploits, the ST Apogee Jacket is designed exclusively for ‘high-risk mountain descents.’ These descents often require rappels and other risky ski mountaineering moves, thus the ST Apogee’s customization for use with climbing gear. A detachable accessory pouch holds everything from multi-tools to energy bars, and the three-zip vent system on the front of the Apogee is customizable to work around climbing ropes and harnesses, radios, and other necessary gear. The upper chest pocket with a chamois is perfect for stowing extra goggles or sunglasses…and cleaning the ones you’re wearing with a quick wipe. Bouncing off rocks, ice, and other alpine debris is a common occurrence on such burly terrain, so bomber 550D HyVent trim placed in abrasion zones and—here’s the kicker—KEVLAR-reinforced shoulders make this thing as close to indestructible as any piece of clothing can be. And of course everyone loves the Velcro watchband built into the sleeve cuff tabs, so you can wear a sports watch on the outside of your sleeve. |
